Hello from me and my chooks in UK

Hello DonnaDonut55.
Welcome to BYC.
Where in the UK are you?
Layers pellets are fine for laying hens.
You may be looking at Cecal poop with the mustardy yellow poop.
Chickens produce two types of poop. On average 1 out of 7 is Cecal poop.
Thank you, that puts our minds at rest a lot so thank you. We are in Kent, in the South East of UK where we are currently having a heatwave and its getting hotter phew

Welcome! I’m pretty new here as well but I wanted to let you know that we’ve given our hens layer feed and free range for three years with no issues. I’m not sure what the conflict is. Maybe it’s a concern over protein level? Layer pellet is lower than chick starter. Let them forage (if you can safely) or toss them some bugs/ dried soldier fly larva etc. Good luck. Sorry I can’t advise on you slightly ill bird- sometimes it just passes through.
Thank you We are letting them forage in the garden for few hours when someone is home and we do give them now some fruit and veg and mealworms Fingers crossed they will all be ok. Have 4 eggs today, the most in one day so far, so going in the right direction haha. Thank you for your advice and enjoy your chooks.
