So I just basically am making my introduction to you all.
Are you new to chickens? Sort of I remember my grandfather having them
When did you get chickens? Its been about a year now or a lil more
How many do you have?
I have 12
What breeds?
1 acona,1 minorca, 1 isa brown, 2 amuracanas, and 7 silkies
How did you find out about byc?
Researching chickens
Any other hobbies?
I collect rocks
About your family, pets, etc? I am married with two children one boy and one girl. I have a bearded dragon and a pitbull in the house. In my short time I have learned a lot and I've lost 9 birds

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I am sorry for your losses. :hugs They say a loss of 5% a year is normal in chicken flocks? I don't know but I have lost my fair share too. Never easy.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our group! :)

Welcome back to BYC!

Here is my best advice for navigating this forum:

If you have not already, put your location in your profile, not your address or anything but at least your state that will help you get better advice, and speaking of advice....

Almost everyone here is an absolute expert on almost everything imaginable, take me for example I have left advice about freezing temps and I live in Southern California. So take the best and leave the rest.

Once you do get some good advice, and you will, then follow said advice... Example being the guy who burned down his coop after being advised not to use a heat lamp in the coop and then talks about how to place the heat lamp going forward in the new coop....

Stay away from religion and politics, its just not worth it:oops:

Oh, and build BIG, chicken math is real:plbb

Welcome to the flock!
