Hello from Michigan!

Hi there! New chicken owner here. I have a small flock of orpington hens at the moment. I had chickens as a little girl, but am really starting from scratch as an adult as far as chicken know-how! I built my own coop, and I am always trying to make life easier for my ladies.

I have just recently added two new lavender/blue orps hens to my flock. The rest are black and white spotted (splash or jubilee maybe?). My chickens go crazy for corn, and tolerate my doting on them. I've been too nervous to let them roam the yard, but they have an extensive run addition.

I found BackYardChickens.com through google searches. Literally every question I asked took me here!

PS - What do you call someone who keeps chickens? I've been going with "Chicken Tender!"
