Hey ladies and gents!

I've been lurking this site for about a year now and think its time to take the plunge! I am looking at building a small chicken tractor coop over the christmas break, just for maybe about 2-3 laying hens for eggs. This would be my first attempt at any type of "farming" other than gardening. I have a family of three and about to be four, would love to have my own home grown eggs.

I have a ton of questions but just wanted to start out with HELLO!!!

Happy you joined! Hope your start to your chicken venture goes well, I'll tell you this much. When you fist get chickens you'll NEVER regret it. And one warning, chicken fever will get you, you will continually want more chickens, we went from 8 hens and two years later, we have 32

Also check out the designs in the Coops section, if you haven't already. I would recommend building the coop a bit bigger than you have planned. Once chicken math strikes you will want more hens! Trust me, I started off with 4 and ended up with over 100!
