Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum but not new to keeping chickens. My husband and I are recently retired, not from working but from our professional life and are now living la vida loca on our 28 acre farm on a ridge on a gravel road in Northern Missouri.

This spring I am looking forward to starting my brood and reacquainting myself to keeping chickens. When I was a teenager (back in the dark ages where we didn't have computers and CDs were known as vinyl records) and into my early 20s, I had a flock of Bantams (Red Cochin rooster and mixed breed hens) and a small flock of mixed breed chickens. One of which was so tame she would ride on my bicycle handlebars when I rode.

I really miss those birds and am looking forward to getting advice from all you 'oldtimers' about the best way to start my new flock of hopefully Bantams in the spring.

Thanks in advance,

microchick
