I've had chickens for about 20 years on the ranch and just this past year discovered BYC. I've been lurking on a regular basis and finally decided to participate. I've got 20 chickens at the moment and a beautiful EE rooster named Cheekie for his fine face feathers. I've always had hatchery chickens and last year got an assortment of breeds I'd curious about so have 2 EE, 5 SLW, 4 GLW, 1 maran, 1 welsummer, 4 old red sex links, 2 crossbreds from a couple eggs one of my hens hatched out.
BYC was the inspiration for me to let one of my hens set. I'd never done that before or hatched any eggs. What fun!
Besides chickens (my personal hobby), we raise Angus cattle, Quarter horses and sheep, have Border Collies, Akbash guard dogs with the sheep and a wonderful little Havanese house dog.
Yes, animals are my life.
