Foxes and hawks have me worried. The chicks are so tiny now and I don't think I'm allowed to fire a rifle/shotgun in a neighborhood lol And I know I can't kill raptors. We also have rattlesnakes..I hope they aren't fans of chicks...

Ya, it seems like everything likes to eat chicken. You might want to check out the Predator and Pest forum for ideas on coop construction / reinforcement against whatever you have in your area. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/13/predators-and-pests X2 on post pictures of your chicks to id them, some standard breeds that come to mind as being buff and featherlegged are Buff Brahmas and Cochins, if they are bantams there are quite a more possibilities.
