My name is Jessica, my husband Chris and I are fairly new to the chicken/duck world. We were introduced to it this past spring when we were out in the woods training our GSP in a lake and came across an abandon Canada goose nest. We checked around the whole area and saw no signs of a mom or dad. So took the eggs home and incubated them and only two hatched out of the five sadly. But we raised the babies and they flew off to be normal geese, big and beautiful. After that my husband one weekend went to a local flock swap and got 4 baby chicks and 2 mallard ducklings. After a few ups and downs and loosing some along the way, we now have 6 hens ranging from 5-7 months old and 4 ducks.
