You may be interested in the thread "People with house chickens." If you only care to have the one chicken, having her in the house, she will bond with you. You would still let her out in a run or fenced area so she can do chicken things, like pulling weeds, scratching up bugs, getting some exercise. I see you are in Florida so your weather probably is favorable to being outside. Welcome to Backyard Chickens :frow

Thanks! I believe she is quite happy roaming the backyard. Sometimes she goes to the neighbors yard too (they like her). Though they inquired about her recently as guess she has not been visiting. Between the 2 yards she has nearly an acre. I have 2 dogs who are friendly to her. She sleeps in a dog crate on the screen porch. I truly don't think she would be happy confined. I do think she would enjoy me getting up earlier, but well that is not going to happen. Thanks though I will certainly check it out!
