Hello there.
I am Brittny, I'm 27. I am a wife, mom of 2(DD 9, DS 1), and a paramedic. I have wanted chickens for as long as I can remember. Grew up in a small farm community but never had animals myself except for dogs and cats.

  • Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am brand new.

  • How many chickens do you have right now?
Getting 10 TODAY! Wanted to start small with 6 but with the chance of losing one or two and not wanting to deal with integrating new chickens later, we just decided to go with a nice even number.

  • What breeds do you have?
We'll for sure be getting Ameraucanas and Welsummers. Would love to someday have Olive eggers, Lavender Orpingtons, and Black Copper Marans but the selection around here is not the greatest.

  • How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I have been researching extensively and kept coming back to your site with the answers I needed.

  • What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to buy fabric that I'll never be brave enough to cut and sew up. I love to explore new restaurants/attractions/events with my family.

  • Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I already covered a few things but we also have an indoor cat. We just moved back to the country. My husband was raised in a large city his whole life so moving into an old farmhouse with a barn 3 months ago is the adventure we are on right now. I'm excited to finally have an account on here and to learn more and more as our chicken adventure begins. :D
