(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Nope! I LOVE chickens, and I have had chickens for about 8 years, with a brief break in the middle.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I just moved on to a property that allows chickens after living without for about 3 years, so I am rebuilding my flock. I am hoping to get my 7 year old son involved through 4 H. We have 13 chicks, and I expect some more hatching eggs and a nice breeding pair of Serama in the next couple weeks
(3) What breeds do you have?
For fun I have a silkie and several bantam Cochins. I used to serve on the board of the Serama Council Of North America and I am planning on breeding Serama for competition and to better the breed soon.

Stumbled upon it when looking for coop plans
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Archery (for sport, not hunting), slot cars, art, music/singing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am the father of two amazing young children, and the director of Children, youth and young adult ministry at a church where I work full time. I also started a non profit organization dedicated to mission and service called My Generation Missions, Inc.
My wife is a dedicated police officer in a suburb near Cleveland.
Both my wife and I were exotic bird trainers for Sea World Cleveland, and I was once a breeder of several different cockatoo breeds. I still own two parrots, a dog, a cat and a 90 gallon marine tank.
Would love to hear from other chicken owners in the Cleveland area (and elsewhere, of course!)
