Hello from NE Tennessee

I just purchased 6 Cayuga ducklings to replace Gracie's flock and was wondering how long I should wait before letting her have access to them? They live in the same coop with a wire cage separating them, and Gracie is 4 months old.
Try an integrate them as soon as you have time to sit and watch to make sure that Gracie doesn't try and kill them.
There are no set rules on integrating. It's just a try and see game.

I tried once when they were 4 days old and Gracie (she's an embden goose) ran at them and pecked them, so we separated them but only using a fence. We wanted Gracie to be able to watch them. She stands next to their pen and chatters and vibrates her neck. Will this change?

She is also trying to build nests everywhere.

Welcome to the forum. Here in Ohio, I don't know if it is law, but the game wardens will tell you to kill, but not to relocate raccoons. I guess the main logic is not spreading disease. Haven't had to deal with it for a long time, when I was a teen we had coons bad. We'd live trap, sincerely I don't think the foot grabbers are humane. With that said, we didn't want to shoot the wire and damage the traps with a .22. Half the time they'd be on a dead run when they decided to come out, a shotgun that close would be pretty messy. After a bad shot, I know the PETA types are gonna cringe, as we opened the door just one good golf swing with a bat. It was the quickest thing we found, and it was literally almost 40 in one summer. *We did let one go, (far, far away), it obviously had been someone's pet.
