We have been talking for a while to raise our own chickens and found a deal on CraigsList that was just too good to pass up. The guy was selling his chicken coop and eight hens and was getting between 6-8 brown eggs a day. After closing the deal I ended up with a second coop as well for the same price. I had to plan to get the girls here and with out too much disturbance. I first moved the coop that I had planned on getting in the first place and leave the chickens there with the other coop. After getting the coop to my house and placing it on it new foundation I had the chore in getting a chicken pen up and ready for the new occupants. So after a week of working after work I was ready for the girls. They seem to be happy in their new environment as when they see us they are ready at the door wanting to get out to roam the yard (took us two weeks before we let them out in the yard).

It seems that we have the following:
• 2 New Hampshire Reds
• 2 Buff Orpington
• 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte
• 1 Rhode Island Red or Red Star
• 1 Barred Rock
• The white one I don’t know. Rock or Delaware.
