(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I have had chickens for a year and a half so far I have new baby pullets and they are soo cute. My first year of chickens two of them were roosters and there was one hen because we choose from a straight run batch. Turns out the only hen got attacked by an eagle and my tow roos were safe.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

2 roos 3 baby pullets

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have a Plymouth Rock rooster that is a sweetheart, he lets me pet him whenever; a whitish black rooster not sure the breed though; a Welsummer, New Hampshire Red, and Rhode Island Red pullets.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I was researching about chicken coops and different types of breeds.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to cook, play field hockey (still in highschool btw), draw, and much more that I can't think of right now.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

none! just chickens

Howdy md57 and welcome to BYC. Great to have you here.

So sorry for your loss. Predators instinctively know which are the pullets or the favorites and those are the ones taken. Maybe because roos are better at hiding. Maybe you could check out the predators section for info and suggestions to better secure your birds.
