(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We're totally new to chickens... just building our coop now and doing TONS of research online and at local Agway stores. I've been wanting chickens forever, and finally got the motivation to make it happen. We're more settled in our New Jersey home now (we were going back and forth between Jersey and our place in Brooklyn), so I planted a larger vegetable garden and am making this a more permanent home for us and our pets.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We're planning on 3 or 4 max with Silkies in the mix.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm looking for advice on breeds... right now I'm looking at 2 EEs and 1 or 2 Silkies.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
All my Google searches led me to BYC and I loved it so much I set up camp.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My husband is a music/celebrity photographer (http://borucki.com), so most of our time is dedicated to our business. I also LOVE organic gardening, embroidery, working out/weight training, traveling, and all things outdoors. I also blog at http://rebekahandjustin.com which started as our wedding blog and now serves as a personal family journal, and I spend all my playtime enjoying our children, Winona-11, Calvin-9, and Jack-6. I also have two pain-in-the-rear cats, Teddy and Chloe, who love to run underfoot on the stairs, and a yellow-bellied slider turtle, Fleishman, who is just plain awesome.
