Hello all!
I am thrilled to see such an active community for answers to questions about raising chickens.
I live in Northern New Mexico.
I am technically in a residential area, but have a large backyard and a bit of space between myself and my neighbors. Plenty of room for a few hens
And all of the neighbors have had a few ducks or chickens at one time or another, so I am in good company.
I have always wanted to keep chickens and am currently re-modeling my storage shed into a coop for my soon to be acquired girls. I like to be prepared, so I am trying to learn as much as possible before bringing them home.
Instead of chicks, I plan to bring home a few from some friends who have more than they need. I am hoping it will be a good introduction for me to chicken keeping, and will give the girls more space than they currently have!
I know I will enjoy this forum!!
