Just dropped in to get freshened up on the world of chickens again. Bill & Gayla here from southern New York working on a small homestead. We just hatched out some mix heavy breed chicken eggs we got from an Amish farm. I bought some Silkie eggs off of Ebay and had no luck. So if anybody has any Silkie chicks for sale please let me know. And thanks for having a great site full of very nice and helpful people...

! Great to have you aboard! You might be able to find some Silkie chicks in the NY thread in the link below - maybe a local can hook you up!

There are several silkie threads on BYC you could put that in the search box and check them all out. Usually about chicken chatter they mention having chicks for sale.

Silkies however, are notoriously hard to sex before 4-6 mos. If you buy them earlier be prepared to have lots of roosters. My friend got two gorgeous pullets from a breeder in Germantown, NY

(Sundown waterfowl) that were shipped. I don't know if that is anywhere near you. But If she had was you are seeking, it would be worth the trip.

Once you have 20 posts you can participate in the BYC Buy,sell, trade forum - silkies are almost always available there - however a lot of people want to sell theirs very young - so you have the risk of males again.
