I know it can be overwhelming and terrifying when a natural disaster strikes. My hometown was almost destroyed by floods that happened every few years during the 1990s. It seemed like about the time the town would be close to recovering, another flood would hit. I wish y'all the best of luck with rebuilding. Sounds like you've got a great idea about rebuilding the chicken coop.
 
Hello I am also from Christchurch! (well Kaiapoi but close enough!) How are yours laying at the moment? Mine are all over the place with the wacky weather, quakes and moulting!!!
 
Hi, I'm from NZ as well but from north of Auckland, hope you guys are getting on okay with all those aftershocks
