Hello everyone!
My name is Alaina, I'm a young newly wed moved from my home state of Iowa to the beautiful New Zealand where I've settled down with my Kiwi husband.
I am by no means new to owning chickens, I've owned chickens over a good ten years or so. I've recently got some of my own chickens here in New Zealand though. A lovely silver partridge Pekin and a partridge Silkie, both hens. I plan on showing them next year as this year they are a bit young and I want to give them a chance to fully grow into themselves.
My husband is totally smitten with both breeds, we're saving up for a lifestyle block and he says we should plan on having a flock of each.

Dorothy the Partridge Silkie

Dottie the Silver Partridge Pekin, oops, caught my husband in the picture!
Lovely girls, both. They get bigger and fluffier every day.
Let me know if I got the colors wrong or anything! I'm very willing to know more about what I should be putting into showing birds and if they look to be the correct coloring for show birds. As they are only weeks old I think it may be a tad early to look for conformation on them as they have yet to fill out.
