Hello from NH!!!

Hi!

I am from Southern NH and very new to raising chickens! I have 12 Amberlinks that i got 2 weeks ago from the tractor supply store. I have been wanting them for the last year and finally for my birthday last month my husband bought me the book "raising chickens for dummies", that was his way of saying he was ready to build a coop! So now i am in chciken love! They were supposed to be girls but we are thinking we may have one boy.....she came wiith a green mark on her head, when i called the Hatchery to find out what kind of chickens they were they said that is what they do to the boys before the leave the leave the hatchery!
They are about 3 weeks old now so time will tell!!!

Anyways, it is nice to be here!!!!

Welcome from a fellow newbie and NHite! I bought my chicks 2 weeks ago as well from a Tractor Supply which was having a chicken swap. I made the mistake of bringing some cash, and that that was it. I just love them. My dogs love them too. My cocker thinks they are her babies and proctects them from anyone who comes near them. When they are in their covered run outside she will stay close. I could watch them all day too!
