Hi!
My name is Cathy and I live in South Jersey. I have 6 pullets: 2 Black Australorps, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Cuckoo Marans one of which I sadly suspect is a rooster.
A new backyard chicken ordinance was just passed in our town thanks to my hubby who happens to be the mayor :) We can now have up to nine hens!
We built our coop based on a combination of designs I found on this site. Thanks to all who post pics!
Next step for me is to find a new home for my possible rooster. :(

Great that you have "connections" with the mayor and it's great that he and his council members are open-minded enough to realize the benefits of raising a backyard flock.

If you would like opinions on whether or not you have a rooster, try posting several pics of him (comb/wattles, side view, etc.) in this forum:
