I am new to this site but far from new to chickens.....I grabbed my incubators out of the attic that I have not touched since the move and here I am.....Before we moved I had an amazing flock of birds I was very proud of.....My daughter had left home just a few years before and I padded my empty nest with feathers....

My dream was coming to reality I had eggs shipped from all over the country and spent a great deal of money getting my flocks set up to offer an amazing assortment of birds to a little farm town who only knew chickens as "reds" and "dominickers" LOL I smile as I say that God love um....I do miss that little farm town :)

About the time I had everything set.....I had battled the ups and downs of a new bird breeder my husband walks in one day 4 years ago this month and said....I have a job offer in Huntsville,AL and I need to take it or my job is going to be gone here......and then he told me I had three weeks to pack and prepare to move into an Apartment ....This meant all my animals fur and feathered had to have homes as well as I had to find an apartment and pack up my life....

Needless to say I had to make the decision to give everything away in an attempt to find everything a good home....my birds....my dogs....2 horses that were like children.....It was traumatic....I had saved so hard and built all those pens.....many times I would get a dozen hatching eggs to get one hen out of them....I prayed about it....How I got a good home for everything lord only knows....even my horses.....

I stayed in out apartment for a yr then we bought my house here......I stuck my incubators up in the attic and that was that.....last year for my B day ,.....My husband built me a darling coupe here.....I felt all I wanted was a few pets for eggs so I got some Buffs....then I ran into some darling little silkies and they were calling my name so I got a few of them and they now have their own little coupe..

I was putting some of the grandbabies stuff up in the attic he was not using any more and found my incubators this weekend....That thrill once again ran though ,me.....so here I am :) sitting here with an incubator heating up trying to decide what kind of eggs I want :)
