Hello from North Carolina!

Will be getting my chicks in the next couple of weeks and am very excited! I've been waiting for years to have my own chickens. Just moved to our new home in the country!

Definitely a couple of americanuas, a buff Orpington, Rhode Island reds. Blue laced wyandottes. Is it okay to mix bantams with the bigger birds? I'd love to have a silkie and a Japanese too! Just starting with 5-7 birds.

Bantams and standard fowl do ok if they are raised together

It's definitely okay to have bantams and standards together, especially if they're raised together! But they can be mixed later as well without problems, so long as the bantams are mostly grown.

I've recently bought some standards and added bantams to the flock 2 weeks later. They had the expected issues with the pecking order at first and after that they were fine.
