Hello from North Carolina!

You must be so excited to be in your new home in the country!
I am loving country life, myself.
You'll really enjoy your chickens.
What breed(s) of chickens are you planning on getting?

Definitely a couple of americanuas, a buff Orpington, Rhode Island reds. Blue laced wyandottes. Is it okay to mix bantams with the bigger birds? I'd love to have a silkie and a Japanese too! Just starting with 5-7 birds.

It's definitely okay to have bantams and standards together, especially if they're raised together! But they can be mixed later as well without problems, so long as the bantams are mostly grown.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your flock! I'm new to the forum too, and am also getting an easter egger and an orpington :)

Hello and welcome to BYC

I've recently bought some standards and added bantams to the flock 2 weeks later. They had the expected issues with the pecking order at first and after that they were fine.
