Hello everyone. My wife and I were looking for some help. We bought four black chickens that were supposed to be black star chickens and only one of them turned out that way. We have no clue what the other three are and can’t find their likeness anywhere on line. We were hoping someone here might know what they are. Thanks so much

What makes you think they are not black stars? The young chicks can change in color as they grow in feathers and allot of black stars have allot of brown feathers and are not totally black.

Welcome. Many chick's have recessive traits in their DNA and a different color may pop up now and again. I want pure breads too, but the reality of the situation is that somewhere, maybe a long time ago, a wanderer hopped a fence and found a one night stand. Ooopppsss!
