Hey,

The Wife and I live north of Dallas, and plan to add a few chickens this spring. I just finished up a small backyard coop, and hope to make progress on their pen this weekend. We've kept animals before, but this will be our first chicken experience :) This forum has been a goldmine of interesting and useful information!

We are looking to keep 4 (or so) of the Buff Brahma Bantams - so if anyone knows of someone within driving distance of DFW who might have some for sale please pass the info along. So far it looks like we'll be going the day-old chick route unless I can find someone local that has pullets/chicks.

Anyway, I'm cross posting this to the Texas thread elsewhere in the forum. Here's a pic of my (mostly) finished little coop:

That's a lovely little coop! For chicks try the Texas thread and also look here:

Good luck and I hope you find some!

Hi north Texas,
Welcome to BYC, am from Texas also about an hour south of Austin. Nice coop you have going there! I know you will love the chickens, my daughter is 2 and she can't wait to go feed the bock bocks everyday!
