Hi from the hills of San Mateo. Is anyone in this area? I'm new to BYC and to raising chickens so interested in all the wonderful sharing of information on this site. We have four hens, a Dominique named Lucy, a Welsumer named Ethel, an Astralup named Henny Penny and last but not least, (she is the Head Hen!) named Henreyetta. She is a Delaware. They are 18 weeks old and really growing up. They have a little red barn for a coop and a tri-level run to enjoy and be protected from preditors both flying and others! So far we are enjoying our peeps and learning all we can to do a good job with their care. Clucky Greetings from C.C.

Hi we are DoodyCalls San Mateo Ca. and happy Chicken Keepers in San Mateo. We have been raising chickens for the last 4 years. Has are business name implies we scoop pet poop, mostly dogs and litter boxes. But has we have chickens we also scoop coops in San Mateo area. Just recently I was asked to get the word out about our service for those in need. Sometimes it just is too hard for some and we are here to provide that service.

We understand this may not be the place for a company post, but there is a real need and were requested to try and spread the word. We work with our local Humane society and they are called out to coops that are not maintain because the owners can't keep up. Maybe elderly or became disable recently.

So keep us in mind. We also look forward to learning and sharing our experiences.

I have been looking for somewhere in the Bay area to buy a few new chicks, (pullets really) and I ran across your post. I don't know whether you have any stock to sell or trade for produce, if you do I would love to know what's available and details (breed, age, etc.).
If you know of anywhere in the bay area where pullets maybe available that would be really helpful also.
