Hello, Amy, welcome to Backyard Chickens! :woot Congratulations for becoming part of the flock! That is interesting you are raising meat birds, are you going to cull them yourself as well?

My husband has it in mind to cull the meat birds himself. He has butchered pigs so he thinks chickens will be easier! If we want to sell them in the future we would have to have them done at an abattoir. I guess we will see what happens in July!

If you are fast, a person can process a chicken in about 30 minutes working alone. It is best to have a group working on it though.

Plucking can take time. When I process by myself, I will process 3 to 5 at a time on one day. 24 would take me quite awhile though
