Finally found some chicks three days ago, I ended up getting a dozen 3 1/2 week old Rhode Island Red chicks from somebody locally off of Craigslist for $2 a piece. They are straight run, so I'll see how many of what I end up with. Long term goal is to end up with ten or eleven hens and one Roo. I'll cull the flock back as time goes to end up with what I'm looking for and have fresh chicken during the process! Already have the fever. Started the idea with getting six and ended up getting twelve! The whole family is pretty excited!
