Just dropping a couple of lines to introduce myself. I've been reading the BYC forum for months, lurking so to speak, but finally have gotten to have to ask questions that have never been asked before (do they exist)?

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I grew up on a farm in North-eastern Italy. But I've only taken on to having chickens of my own after coming back to Italy after many years abroad on many countries, including the US.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

About 30. 5 hatched just this week, so the count is rapidly increasing.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Amrock, ISA Brown, a wide assortment of bantams, a few Silkies, a few unidentified local rustic breeds I stole from my aunt, and a few Leghorns.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love chickens. The whole social part of it, the Chicken TV daily shows, watching chicks grow, and the eggs of course.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I'm a bit of a workaholic, so aside from looking after the feathered friends and gardening, there isn't much time for anything else. I do love hiking, running and cycling though.
