Hey yall,
I recently moved back to a property that butts up to my dad's old, now defunked, dairy farm.
My dad passed away a number of years ago and left a chunk of property form my brothers an I to do what we want with...share and share alike.
Anyway, this year we purchased a coop and ordered some chicks.
8 LIGHT BRAHMAS
8 BLACK AUSTRALORP
and 12 meat birds
I was looking for some good cold weather birds as we get some fridged temps and lots of snow here is western NY.

Not my first time with birds but it has been over 30 years.

Don't know much about Brahmas but, Black Australorps are very hardy and can take heat & cold, plus being excellent layers. If your late dad's farm has been untouched for years it may be a den for various types of predators. You may need to do some trapping, etc. before the chickens take up residence.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! How exciting for you to be getting back into keeping birds after 30 years away from them. I'm sure you will enjoy your new ones very much and will soon be back into the swing of things with them. Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow
