I'm doing my research on chickens, but, I need a bit of help. I know quietness is really based on personality, but which breeds are known to be quiet? I need a large egg laying breed that's quiet, friendly, and cold hardy. And one that is widely compatible with other breeds. Can anyone help?

    Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! For me a red sexlink or ISA brown seems to be a good option for you. They lay plenty of eggs and are relatively tame. I started out with this wonderful hybrids and they were fab to keep. The breed focus would be great for you to check out ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/975504/chicken-breed-focus-project
Lots of info on a wide variety of birds there.

Good luck and enjoy BYC :frow
