Less than two weeks ago, I hatched my first chick out of a homemade incubator. Then I adopted a retired show bird. Then someone gave me a couple of chicks to keep the first one company. In about ten days I've accumulated six chickens of five different breeds! I have a lot of know- how and common sense, but I know I will need you all to help me along the way. So....HI!

Boy those chicks can be addicting, can't they?!?! At least it is a good addiction.

Since I'm new here, I don't know where to post my question. To many folks around here, a chicken is a chicken is a chicken. Nobody has even heard of chickens that aren't bred for eggs or meat, so chances are that they've never seen a Silkie. Since "Phyllis" is infertile, I think she'd like a carreer as a Goodwill Ambassador in nursing homes and hospitals. Where should I post questions about getting started in this venture? Thanks!!
