Hello, I finally decieded to join this board. Ive been lurking for about a month. Since we had chickens. Were still really new. My family and I have wanted to get chickens for a while and finally just jumped the gun on it. We live in town and were planning on getting them when we moved out into the country. We went to tractor supply to get something, and came home with chickens. Went back to tractor to get some more supplies for the chickens and came home with more chickens, lather rinse and repeat. You get the idea. So now we have built the coop, Half our chickens are outdoors in there and just a few are in the brooder still. Waiting on the rest of the feathers to come in. Not totally sure how many we got. We are weeding out the roosters. They are going to friends or family. Same for the Banties. The big chickens HATE the banties. So they will go find a new home.
Ok that is about my chickens.

I guess im not a chicken person just a bird person. I breed cage birds, Cockatiels, Quakers, and Conures. My husband and I have 6 boys. Well i am not very good at these first post things so ill just end it by saying that im realy glad i found this board.

Thank you for your warm welcome. Hopefully the roos and the banties will go on their trip today. My sister in law will probably be taking them. I will cry. One of the barred rocks was really sweet, ok and stupid. We named him Bob after the monster on Monsters vs. Aliens. But he was really happy go lucky. Then the banties are sweet too but we assumed that they could live with the full size chickens. Darn TSC. So my sister in law and her family allow their chickens to free range. So they will be alrigh there, and i still will get to go visit them.
