Thank you so much for the warm welcomes everyone. As for the roo and the hen, I haven't seen him try to mount her or anything of the sort unless he's sneaky about it. So she's not laying because of the roo, huh? I guess there's really nothing to do now except wait till spring to get some more hens. Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it! So are there any particular chicken breeds that work well with cochins?

Cochins are very calm and gentle breeds, so I would suggest other calm and gentle breeds. Other breeds that have a well-deserved reputation for being calm and gentle are Australorps, Orpingtons, Brahmas, Sussex, and Faverolles. If egg production is a priority, Australorps are the best layers on this list.
