Hello. I'm Rachael and my family and I have had chickens since the spring this year. We started out with 10 Rhode Island reds and quickly added 10 red stars, all hens. We just recently added 5 americauna hens and 7 barred rock hens. We sell eggs and are having trouble keeping up with demand. Lol. But that's a good problem to have. Thanks for allowing me to join. I frequent this page often when I have questions.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sounds like you have a great venture going there if you are struggling to keep up with demand. They must be very tasty eggs. Wishing you the very best of luck in the future.

Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to BYC, Rachael. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm glad egg sales are going so well. If you need any more excellent layers, I would suggest adding some Black Stars (Black Sex Links) to your flock which are very friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 very large brown eggs per hen per year with double yolks not being uncommon. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your egg production.

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I have already received valuable advice from this site. Appreciate it!!
