    Hello from Canada,

We bought a farm a couple years back. Been keeping chickens for a while now, just a handful of Chantecler. This year we've decided to expand the flock to a few other heritage breeds. Some we have ordered from local breeders and others we will be hatching ourselves. In total 15 different heritage breeds. It's going to be an interesting learning and growing summer. Been working in the barn for a while trying to get set-up. As well as the outdoor area for them to scavenge at!!
Looks like this site will be a great reference.
    Cheers Ken from Canada

Your country thread is worth joining as you will get to know other BYC members in your area (just type your state in the search box). In fact, the search box should become your best friend [IMG] Lastly but by no means least, the members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

Good luck with you chicken expansion plans!

    All the best

Hi Ken - so glad you joined us at Backyard chickens. [IMG] I think you would be interested in posting on the "Canadians, check-in-here," thread. I know Chants were bred to handle the weather, they are lovely birds.
