Hello all, after a few years of contemplating we decided to take the plunge and built a coop in our backyard. While we were excited about the idea of farm fresh eggs I never realized how much I would enjoy the chickens themselves. They have amazing unique personalities!

We have 4 41/2 week old Easter eggers and one 4 1/2 week old jersey giant that we have had since they were a week old.

Anxiously waiting to see what sex they will turn out to be but from the endless reading I have done on this site I am fearful that at least 3 of the 5 are Roos and one of the two remaining has a scissor beak that is quite bad.

Thank you for all the amazing posts and information all of you make available on this site. Looking forward to this journey!
