Hello from Oregon

Karen, I kept mine in the garage with a heat lamp, but my garage is also heated. I had them in a BIG rubber made bin and shielded them from any drafts. I started them in a box on one side of the bin and expanded their area as they got older. I think the most important thing is to check your peeps 2-3 times a day and adjust the temp as needed. I kept the food side of the brooder covered so they didn't get cold going for food.
I bought my chicks from Urban Farm and Orchards feed.

Hi, We started the coop last night we are going to use part of the tool shed that we never use and give them a nice run to play in

we will cover the top of the run with a cloth cover used to keep birds out/off trees garden. We found out we can get chickens from Ludemens they have a farm out in Buxton Oregon we thought that the store was just for getting fire stuff and patio stuff. I think we will have to for go the Norwegian chicken can not find where to go and get one. We decided we want all adults we would not have the time to check on the peeps 2-3 x's a day since we are starting College in two weeks.

I will post pictures when coop is finished and filled with chickens.

Karen
