My Partner and I have been raising our flock of 32 Chickens for the past year on our rural 30 acre farm, 1 hour south Of Kansas City in the state of Kansas, We have a great mix of Egg Layer/Meet birds. Although we are not 100% new to chickens we do still see ourselves as being very Green to their full care. As of right now we have 6 Hens and one Cock and then 25 of our girls are only 4 weeks old and still live in their 8'X4' with 2' tall wall brooder where they got 2 large windows that face to the south sun. The Big girls today have a nice 6'X8'X6' tall coop that has a 16'x8' run. In the very near future we will be opening a new coop that was once a grain storage building for cattle. This will be a nice 12'x20'. I really hope this will be enough room for the 32 of them to get along. We also have 2 horses and a cat that live out here.
I know that we have a lot to learn about caring for our girls and really hope that BYC will be our one stop home for friends, fun and facts.
