Hi, I am just learning about chickens since we added 4 little chicks to our home about a month ago... Trying to just figure out how to do everything. So I've figured out we have a Buff Orpington, Ameracauna, Barred Rock, and my daughter swears hers is a Buckeye, but I think it is another Ameracauna.... I have been taking them outside in the evenings, but am afraid they will get over the 4 foot steel garden fence which separates them from the dogs when they free range. I don't think they can fly that high, but I stay close to them and keep them away from it. . I have two labs that will let birds eat their food all day but seem determined to catch the chickens.
