Hello everyone! I have finally realised that I should join this forum and not just enjoy all the hints and tips it offers!
I have kept chickens for some years but only recently has a broody hen hatched some chicks and brought a new joy / and worry / into my life. I currently have 2 young hens sitting side by side on a nest of eggs but although sitting on the eggs seems natural to them, neither knew what to do when an egg hatched and so the baby chick ended up dying......
It seems that my kitchen may turn into a chick nursery, bringing more anxiety into my life......!
I already have an assortment of animals, mostly rescues. Cats, dogs, horse and donkey. I hope not to get any more turn up on me! But I enjoy my chickens so much........
