I've been interested in keeping chickens for several years, but until last month, Cobb County, GA required 2 acres, a $1000 non-refundable application fee plus other requirements in order to keep backyard birds. They finally saw the light and amended the requirements to only a $150 fee and did away with the 2 acre rule. Looking forward to getting my first birds within the month.
Love the site and look forward to learning a lot.

Wow your county sure tried to keep chicken people away $ 1000 insane!! Is the new lower fee for just a year or a one time deal?

! I think the $1000 is outrageous

and even the $150 is exorbitant...ah, bureaucracy!! But I am happy your county is at least being more reasonable about keeping chickens. Good luck and have fun.

One time fee, so I'm good to go. Still looking for a good coop design for my needs, but hope to start within the next 2 weeks.
