Hello! I'm new to all this and still doing my research between ducks and chickens. Both have pros and cons. I opened a new topic under ducks so I could get some advise about pro and cons of having chickens or ducks. Please check it out for more details.

Welcome Aboard Yotric!!!!
There is plenty to read on here, to help get you started.
I dont have ducks, and am still kinda new to outdoor poultry, but have had my parrots for along time. Avian is avian.....
I am off today to Pueblo to shop!!! Havent been there in a long while & only 80 miles away.

Hope you survived the cold last night. My free ranging peas survived it , whooow - got to 6° last night & forcast for colder and more snow on Monday....

You will find plenty of others to help you, Good Luck.

Hi trish and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Don't have ducks (too messy for me despite their cuteness), love my chickens (despite noisy crowing)

from the Crystal Coast of NC!

I can't really give you the pros and cons of owning either... but I did have a duck once.

It's name was Bob. We had to go away one time and I gave it to a friend to take care of while we were away and she "taught" it how to swim. I have never laughed so hard as the moment after she told me she taught my duck how to swim.

Unfortunately, the neighbors dog got ahold of Bob and killed him.
