hello everyone I am glad to finally join a chicken forum. I am just starting in this consuming hobby. So far i have five laying hens about nine months old. Three Delawares, (given to me by my neighbors.) a Cuckoo Marans, and maybe a black sex-link. I owe everything actually happening to my neighbors for the gift of my first chickens. I had always planned on having my own laying hens to have eggs raised humanely. I never guessed chickens could involve so much more. I will be changing my lifestyle completely. I want to start raising chickens to help preserve a breed plus raise food for my family and maybe some more people. I am still in the process of selecting my breed. I will be receiving some eggs to hatch in march of a few breeds. Thank you all for being here.
