Funny I found this website/forum through Texas Bowhunters.com I guy on there was asking about raising chickens and they recommended BYC so I checked it out. Great site. Was going to try and raise a few chickens, however with the city requirements I don't have enough space away from my house and property lines etc. Then I started researching on the quail thread and that is what I am going to do raise some quail. No city restrictions. Got a brooder house built and I built a ice chest incubator which I am testing as I type. Seems to be holding at 99 degrees.

I have so many hobbies now I guess one more won't hurt. LOL

Hello and welcome to BYC!

Good luck with your egg incubation- I've been thinking about building an incubator too!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, quail are great to keep in areas you can't keep chickens. I keep both and they are equally as fun to keep.

Stop by our quail section to talk with other quail keepers if you like...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/48/quail

Good luck with your quail adventures and welcome to our flock!

I'm glad you joined our community.

I hope your quail raising goes well! I've never kept quail myself, but have always thought that they seem like nice little birds.

If you want to chat with other quail raisers, I suggest taking a look at the quail forums: Quail

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I hatched and raised some quail and they were lovely little birds to keep. Unfortunatly the dog did not like them so I had to rehome them. Drop by the quail section of the learning centre for some super articles on quail incubation, brooding and keeping. Here is the link I'm sure you will find it very helpful https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/other-backyard-poultry-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc

Wishing you the very best of luck with your incubation, hope you have a great hatch.
Enjoy BYC :frow

You can raise chickens as long as nobody complains. Welcome! Kern

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your quail.
