Hello from San Antonio TX.!

Hi everyone, the wife and I are hoping to move south of town on a property with some acrage. It will likely be next year at the soonest, but nothing wrong with planning in advance. One of the first things I will be doing is building a chicken coop and raising chickens for eggs and meat for us.
I have looked around a little and I can tell I will gain a wealth of knowledge from you all, and I look forward to it.

Thanks for the welcome! Just in the planning stages. I am enjoying all the great photos and coop ideas. Any issues for North Texas, besides heat, that I should keep in mind?

I live about 30 miles north of Fort Worth, zone 8, so we get cold and heat. Open to any thoughts about coop building.

Welcome! You have come to the right place to get chicken knowledge.
My recommendation is to plan for what you might be doing in the future, not just now. I have made 3 extensions on my coop and run and wish I had started out with the larger capacity.
