Hello from Santa Barbara!

Hey, my name is Maddie and I'm living in a sunny canyon in Carpinteria, California! I have a lot of chicken questions and backyard chickens is always the first site to pop up and answer my questions! I'm representing 5 lovely ladies who roam 7 acres of organic orchards all day, every day. We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Americana, 1 Golden Sex Link and 1 Buff Orpington. The flock is small for now but I hope to extend it in the future,
I have got so much out of raising chickens, they're more than a bunch of birds to me, they're part of the family with their quirky ways and inquisitive nature.

I'm so excited to make new chicken whispering friends on this site and learn more about raising chickens! I would love to meet some people from my area so give me a heads up if your from Santa Barbara or Carpinteria!
