We are a family of 6 that have just jumped in to the chicken world. We started off with the purchase of 2 Bronze Breasted turkeys and 2 Ameraucana's. In the last month we have proceeded to buy a few more. We now also have a black, white, and a partridge silkie, a buff turkin, a gold laced cochin, a frizzled cochin, a appenzeller spitzhauben silver, a rhode island red, a white crested polish, a barred rock, a gold laced wynadotte, 12 buff laced x frizzled polish hatching in the next 3 days, and finally 3 show girls that went in to the incubator 2 days ago. This coming up weekend we will be going to look at some more appenzeller spitzhaubens. We have really enjoyed them thus far and have found out that they grow very fast. We went from a plastic tote to a small plastic pool to a 18' by 12' run with attached roost and nesting boxes. We have been busy the last few weeks learning what works and what doesn't and have found your threads full of questions and answers to be just what we needed. We will post some pics in the coming days of our new chicks and there new home.
