Hello from SC!

Greetings!
My husband and I (and our unborn peanut) are raising 15 barred rock chicks (almost chickens). They are so fun and entertaining. We have lost 1 (originally 16) to a hawk as we live in the woods, but so far our "web" we have made around our run has worked. We are raising them mostly for eggs, but are having a hard time distinguishing the males from females as they all love to fight each other. We have at least 1 rooster, as we heard his cute (but rather pathetic) attempt to crow last weekend. They are around 10 weeks old and we are free-ranging them with supervision. I never thought they would be so fun - and poop so much!

You should post pics of your chickens and we can help you identify their gender if you like.
Our hens fight each other too (pecking order thing) so the aggressiveness isn't just restricted to roosters.
